I have been at McGill full time since December 1980. I started off in Admissions and then moved to the Registrar’s office, and then the two offices united to become the ARO, then the ARRO. Now they are called Service Point. In 2004, I joined the Electrical Engineering team. It was the best move I ever made.
What do you like about being a Steward?:
I like the idea of being able to help someone; if you look after one person, you are really looking after everyone. Hopefully I will have some insight that can help with a problem.
Personal info (a few words on hobbies, interests, or background):
During the strike, I enjoyed meeting the many people that I deal with on a daily basis over the phone. Now I am able to put a face to the voice. I also have many new friends. During the strike, a few of us came out with a few songs. I really enjoyed doing that. Maybe I should have worked for Hallmark. Lol [Editor’s note: the MUNACA Songbook was published and came out just before the end of the strike.]
Well, I retire in 8 years and before I go I would like to see McGill the great place to work for that it used to be – back when we were all a family. Je me souviens.

À McGill depuis :
Je travaille à McGill à pleins temps depuis décembre 1980. J’ai commencé dans le Service d’inscriptions. Ensuite, je me suis mutée au Bureau de scolarité. Les deux se sont fusionnés pour devenir “ARO” et plus tard “ARRO.” Aujourd’hui ils sont le Point de Service. En 2004 je me suis intégrée à l’équipe du Génie électrique. C’était la meilleure décision que j’aie jamais prise.
Qu’est-ce que te plaît d’être délégué(e)? :
J’aime l’idée d’aider quelqu’un; en fait, prendre soin d’une personne, c’est prendre soin de tous le monde. J’espère donner des aperçus qui pourraient aider à résoudre un problème.
Info perso (quelques mots sur des passe-temps, intérêts, parcours personnel):
Pendant la grève, j’ai eu le plaisir de rencontrer beaucoup de gens avec qui je parlais quotidiennement au téléphone. Maintenant je connais la personne derrière la voix. De plus, j’ai fait beaucoup de nouveaux amis. Pendant la grève, plusieurs d’entre nous ont crée des nouvelles chansons, ce qui m’a bien amusé. Peut-être j’aurais dû travailler pour Hallmark. MDR. [NDLR: Le Livre de chansons MUNACA a été publié, il est sorti juste avant la fin de la grève.]
Eh bien, je partirai en retraite dans huit ans. Avant de partir, j’aimerais que McGill devienne de nouveau le bon lieu de travail comme il l’était avant – alors, nous éprouvions le sentiment d’être membres d’une famille. “Je me souviens.”
